These comments amaze me, I have never had any bride make these comments to me. Choosing a photographer, you need to choose a professional. Try going to the PPA sitehttp://www.ppa.com/about/content.cfm?ItemNumber=2335&navItemNumber=2337, find a photographer, for referrals, you have a better chance of getting someone that knows what they are doing. You also need to pay the photographer what they need to make a living. Expect to pay $2500 to $3600 for an entry level photography package. Otherwise you just get someone with a part time weekend job, they just don't care.
